Resolved - No additional info is available at this time. It appears that there was an outage for our internet providers between our external Web Application Firewall and our datacenter. We will continue investigating internally.

Update - We've identified a problem between one of our external providers and our network and are working to address it now. This affects traffic from some areas to sites that live under the www.fool.com domain. Other domains are not affected at this time.

Monitoring - We identified the issue and have a work around in place to get our sites back online. This internal maintenance window was not intended to affect production systems, we do applogize for all the site issues tonight. We are continuing to closely monitor our systems and will update once all internal maintenance has been complete.

Update - Another production system was shutdown that is now causing a large outage across many sites. We are working on getting it back up at this time to restore expected service. Most of our sites will have either intermittent or complete outage at this time.

Resolved - This was a false positive. We're making changes to our alerting infrastructure to help fix an underlying issue between our monitoring and web firewall provider and should see no false positives after that time.

Resolved - From our investigation, this appears to have been an issue with one of the layers between us and the internet having a problem for some end users. We added some additional health-checking to prevent this in the future.

Resolved - We've identified that a faulty config on certain servers led to an out of disk space state on one of our internal DNS servers (part of the map telling computers how to talk to each other). We are working on rectifying that faulty config and diagnosing why the replica DNS server was not being used by a portion of our servers, and, finally, tuning our monitoring config to give us a longer window to detect and prevent this from being an issue in the future.

Monitoring - Issues began resolving around 22:10 EDT. We are still looking into root cause of the outage. Most of our external sites were affected by either intermittent timeouts or complete outage from around 20:40 EDT until 22:10.
